Guwahati, Shillong and Cherrapunji Tour Itinerary
Arrive at the hotel that you have pre-booked in Shillong and take a shower.
Evening: Visit the local Police Bazaar which is the busy center of Shillong. It is possible to shop in the local handicrafts and souvenirs and enjoy the colorful atmosphere.
Eat in a local restaurant (taste traditional Khasi dishes such as Jadoh, Dohneiiong, etc.).
Overnight stay in Shillong.
Sightseeing Enroute:
Elephant Falls: This is a waterfall with three levels which is situated at the outskirts of Shillong.
Shillong Peak: Provides an amazing panoramic view of the whole city as well as the nearby hills (when the weather is good and permission is granted).
Mawsmai Cave: A stunning cave that is made of limestone and which has interesting formations. (Optional: Double Decker Living root Bridge walk is more vigorous and time consuming).
Afternoon: See the Nohkalikai falls, the highest plunge waterfall in India. The perspective is magnificent.

Evening: Retirement to Shillong. Spend your time having fun.
Overnight stay in Shillong.
The road is lengthy yet extremely scenic and goes through tea gardens, the mighty Brahmaputra River and rural Assam.
Afternoon: Get to the Kaziranga and get into your resort or lodge, which is better taken near the Central or Western Range of the park.
Lunch at the resort.
Evening: Have some rest in the resort or visit a nearby Tea Estate or a Local Village to get a glimpse of the Assam culture.
Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Late Morning: Jeep Safari within one of the ranges within the park (Central, Western, or Eastern). The terrains of each of the ranges vary somewhat and provide a different wildlife viewing experience. Umananda Temple: This is placed on the tiniest island (Peacock Island) of the Brahmaputra River. Accessible by a short ferry boat.
Evening: Visit the
Sukreswar Temple & Ghat: Experience one of the most magnificent sunsets at the Brahmaputra River.
Assam State Museum (time permitting and open).
Overnight stay in Guwahati.
