Guwahati, Golaghat and Shillong Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Guwahati – Kaziranga (195 kms, 4 hours)

Start the journey with your arrival at the Guwahati station/airport, get greeted and straight away get transferred to Kamakhya Temple. After devoting some quality time depart for Kaziranga which is a 4-5 hours journey from Guwahati. After arrival we will go for jeep safari at the Western range of the national park for another dose of adventure into the jungle. Finally, drop you at your hotel.
We can also arrange bonfire in the night on demand. (Charges Extra)

Day 2

Kaziranga – Shillong (271 kms, 7 hrs)

Early morning we will take you for an exciting elephant safari. Feel the gratifying pleasure in an early morning elephant safari across the Western range of the National Park at 5:30 A.M or 6:30 A.M. Meet the pride of India, the great Asian one-horned Rhinos with wild Buffalo, Tiger, Elephant, variety of Deer, Python and variety of migratory birds, water birds, predators, scavengers and game birds etc. After the thrilling encounter with the magnificent species come back to the hotel and have your breakfast. After that we will head for Shillong, It takes around 7-8 hours to reach this gorgeous hill station. On the way, drop by the Borapani Lake in the state of Meghalaya, also known as the Umiam lake, it is beautifully surrounded by Sylvan hills.

Day 3

Shillong – Cherrapunji (60 kms, 2 hrs)

After breakfast, set off for Cherrapunji, well known for receiving one of the highest rainfall in the world. Cherrapunjee is locally known as Sohra and is situated at a distance of 56 kms from Shillong. On the way we will be visiting the Shillong peak, located in the upper Shillong from where one can see the beauty of Shillong city under the clouds giving a perfect picturesque view of the city. After a while we head to the Elephanta falls, the water of this three steps falls comes down in flows from different levels over the fern-covered rocks and falls into the canyon down below. Then visit the Mawkdok Valley which is a very prominent sightseeing for tourists. Then on the way we visit the Nohsngithiang falls (Seven sisters falls) which is known to be the symbol of the Unity of the Seven States of North East India. Later than we visit the Mawsmai cave, a major crowd puller that leaves tourists spellbound. After trekking in the majestic cave we move for Eco Park, which hosts several hybrid and indigenous orchids. It also offers a breathtaking view of distant Sylhet Plains of neighboring Bangladesh.

Day 4

Shillong – Mawlynnong - Dawki (85 Kms, 3 hrs)

In the morning get ready to take explore the Mawlynnong Village.
Mawlynnong/Mawlynnong Village located in the East Khasi Hills of Meghalaya, also referred as ‘God’s own garden’ has won the acclaim of being the cleanest village in Asia in 2003. Visit the Living Root Bridge in the nearby village of Rawai. The village also offers a sight of natural balancing rock, a strange natural phenomenon of a boulder balancing on another rock. From Mawlynnong one can see the Indo-Bangladesh Border. After some time we travel for Dawki in the East Jaintia Hills, on arrival is the Umngot River where the water is crystal clear and is said to be one of the clearest river in India. The journey from Mawlynnong to Dawki is thrilling and scenic as we pass through lush green valleys and waterfalls peddling down from every corner of the hills. We will take a boat ride which is the most astonishing thing to do in Dawki. Then come back to your hotel.

Day 5

Shillong – Guwahati (90 kms, 3 hrs)

The day starts with a healthy breakfast and after that we will visit one of the most romantic place in Shilong, the Ward’s Lake, located in the heart of the city which was built by the British councils and is a prominent hang-out place in Meghalaya. Then we visit the Cathedral Catholic Church which attracts thousands of devotees. After spending a quality time we will leave for Guwahati where you can visit the Umananda Temple and then head for guwahati railway station for onward journey of Siliguri by train.

Day 6

Arrival and Transfer to Darjeeling

Our representative will be there to receive You at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) / Tenzing Norgay Bus Stand (Junction) – You will be assisting for the transfer - Darjeeling - Nearly 105 kilometers 3 Ѕ - 4 hours drive – At an height of 2123 meters / 70001 feet lies the land of breathtaking beauty, sloping tea gardens with spectacular views of the Mount Everest is the Queen of the hills – It is also home to the famous World Heritage train – The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) - Check into hotel – Evening free to roam around Mall or local Shopping center.

Day 7

Darjeeling Local Sight Seeing (Half Day)

Early morning at around 3:45 AM drive to 8000 feet / 2440 meters through primitive forests of oak, magnolia to Tiger Hill to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather) – On the way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Peace memorial & Batasia Loop – Back to hotel for break fast - After breakfast next round of sight seeing - Half Day city tour includes Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tensing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Natural History Museum (Sunday Closed), Peace Pagoda – Back to hotel – Evening free to stroll around the Mall area or Chowk Bazaar.

Day 8

Transfer to Gangtok

This morning after breakfast, drive to Gangtok (5,500 feet), which is 100 km from Darjeeling. View of lush green mountains and bubbling brooks will greet you at every turn. In the evening, you will be transferred to hotel on arrival at Gangtok, acclimatize to the weather.

Day 9

Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir (Full Day)

Morning breakfast at hotel – Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir nearly 40 kilometers and 2 hours drive along the Kyongnosla Alpine Sanctuary, the home to the red panda and the blood pheasant with Rhododendron and other alpine trees - Situated at an elevation of 3753 meters / 12310 feet - The Lake is oval shaped lake nearly 50 feet deep - Generally covered in snow for most of the year the year – This lake is home to the Brahmini ducks & many migratory birds – Nearby is the sacred Baba Mandir known to be a very holy site for all - Nathu La Pass to Republic of China is nearly 20 kilometers and is optional tour - Back to Gangtok - Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall) or local Shopping center.

Day 10

Departure – Gangtok to Siliguri

Morning breakfast -After that drive for visit to Enchey Monastery, Barthang waterfalls, Nam Nang view point, Ropeway, Flower Show, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology & Do Drul Chorten Stupa etc - Back to hotel- Transfer to Bagdogra - Forwarding Journey.
